Paediatric Infectious Diseases Units
NISPID advocates for the establishment of Paediatric infectious diseases units across Paediatric Departments in all tertiary training health facilities in the country for expert clinical management of paediatric infections as a sub-specialty. Additionally, the junior and senior resident doctors will significantly gain a comprehensive understanding of diagnostic and therapeutic competencies and skills for interventions necessary to manage the most conditions within the spectrum of paediatric infectious diseases.
Continued planning and implementation of national programmes and policies
As a major stakeholder in paediatric infectious diseases in Nigeria, NISPID will continue to contribute to the planning and implementation of national programmes and policies to ultimately achieve the overall goal of improving child health indices in the country.
